Southeast Asia, North Asia, South Asia (specifically India and Pakistan), Papua New Guinea and South Pacific Island countries (specifically Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Kiribati), and Southern Africa (specifically the Republic of South Africa).

Gives partner country scientists involved in ACIAR-supported collaborative research projects the opportunity to obtain postgraduate qualifications at Australian tertiary institutions.

Applicants must already be involved in an ACIAR project and be working in a current ACIAR bilateral partner priority country.

There are two calls for nominations per year. Applications must be submitted by 31 March (1st call), or 21 August (2nd call) of the year prior to the study taking place.
