Seeks to encourage young scientists to focus on crops important in their home countries. In turn, these scientists can train others, building scientific expertise and infrastructure to address their region's food priorities.

Underutilized species, agricultural biodiversity, seed systems, germplasm conservation.

Who can apply
Development organizations, governmental or non-governmental from developing countries. Every project must have a research component and should involve a research organization.
