Participatory Enhancement of Diversity of Genetic Resources in Asia (Pedigrea)
Summary PEDIGREA (Participatory Enhancement of Diversity of Genetic Resources in Asia) is a project on strengthening the capability of farming communities to manage their genetic resources as part of local agrobiodiversity. The project focuses on
participatory plant breeding aimed at the broadening of the genetic base of rice in intensive production systems,
participatory crop improvement of local and traditional vegetables, and
enhancing the genetic base of poultry.
Simultaneously, the project focusses on creating and improving the marketing opportunities for local and regional farm products. The project is currently implemented in Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
