Peanut tree

Summary
The peanut tree is a relatively fast growing, small native tree with an attractive leaf canopy in summer. The mature tree provides shade, wood with an oak like grain and edible, nutty flavoured seeds. Young seedling plants can be grown for an edible storage root that can be eaten fresh or cooked. The tree grows well on poorer beach sands found in tropical areas.
