GardenAfrica is an organisation dedicated to helping communities in sub-Saharan Africa, through organic horticultural training, to reduce dependence on synthetic inputs, and boost income. By enhancing the relationship between communities and their environment GardenAfrica strives to improve health, productivity, welfare and quality of life amongst the most vulnerable and excluded. By developing training & resource gardens, we equip communities with the training necessary to turn their lives around.

Operating through knowledgeable and trusted local partners GardenAfrica guarantees safe, sustainable and thoughtful delivery of donor support. Our training ensures the continuation of vital agricultural and botanical knowledge through to the next generation of carers and providers.
Training and resource gardens include:
Schools – teacher training involving‘living classrooms’ to enliven learning, whilst poviding food for school lunches to aid concentration & learning.
Hospitals & Clinics – to improve nutrition, boost natural immunity against secondary infections, and to aid the absorption of life saving anti-retroviral treatment.
Rural Community Gardens – to promote localised economic development, and provide a focus for community driven exchange of indigenous knowledge between generations.
Conservation Sites – to conserve andmanage botanical resources under threat from environmental degradation & over harvesting.
